NOTE. It will be observed, that a number of new towns in Maine (the principal part of which have not yet been represented) have no distance annexed to them. We cannot find thein upon the maps now in use. A few towns' distance, not on the rolls, is taken from other sources. A new Map of the State, particularly of Maine, is much wanted. Since the last Massachusetts and Maine (State Maps), many new towns have been created; and the distance from Boston much shortened by new roads, &c. It would be highly interesting and richly repay the expence and trouble, if the General Court would require (as formerly) plans, &c. of towns (as taken generally in '94-6), and have new maps prepared.
