BE IT REMEMBERED, that on the first day of August, in the forty-sixth year of the Independence of the United States of America, A. D. 1821, Isaac Riley, of the said district, hath deposited in this office, the title of a book, the right whereof he claims as proprietor, in the words following, to wit:

"A Practical Treatise on Bills of Exchange, Checks on Bankers, Promissory Notes, Bankers' Cash Notes, and Bank Notes. By Joseph Chitty, Esq. Barrister, of the Middle Temple. A New Edition, from the Fifth London Edition. Re-composed, enlarged and improved, with notes of the leading cases, an Index of their names, and an Appendix of Precedents; to which is added, the most important Cases decided in the Courts of the United States, and of the several States.

In conformity to the Act of the Congress of the United States, intituled "An act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned." And also to the act, entitled "An act, supplementary to an aet, entitled An act for the encouragement of learning, by securing the copies of maps, charts, and books, to the authors and proprietors of such copies, during the times therein mentioned, and extending the benefits thereof to the arts of designing, engraving, and etching historical and other prints."
