About the author (2002)

Xavier Pons is a professor of English at the University of Toulouse-Le Mirail and a past president of the European Association for Studies on Australia (EASA). He is the author of "Out of Eden" and "A Sheltered Land" and has translated three Australian novels into French. He lives in Toulouse, France.
